The Jack’s Back!
Dates have been set for event that is the highlight of the Australian social sport calendar. The Jack Newton Celebrity Classic once again rolls onto the glorious greens of Cypress Lakes Resort in the Hunter Valley on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 December 2012.
The event is a 36 hole, 2 day tournament is now in its 34th year and for the last 6 years has been held in the gorgeous NSW Hunter Valley. Not only home ground for host Jack Newton but the destination of choice for some of Australia's best events including CMC Rocks the Hunter, Groove in the Moo and A Day on the Green.
Cypress Lakes Resort boasts a world class golf course and is surrounded by award winning wineries and spectacular scenery, making it the ideal location for this premier event.
Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, said: "I am delighted that the Jack Newtown Celebrity Classic will be hosted at the Cypress Lakes Resort in the Hunter Valley."
"The Hunter Valley was recently voted number one wine traveller destination in Australia by TripAdvisor, the worlds' largest travel website and the event will not only showcase top class golf, but also the Hunter Valley's magnificent food and wine".
The Jack's celebrity list is the envy of every event in the country. To get the highly sort after invitation, you need to fit the prerequisite of the host, Jack Newton himself. "The ingredients have been the same for a long time", said Newton. "Celebrities, business people and professional golfers have to like golf, enjoy a good time and are happy to raise money for two organisations that are very dear to my heart, Jack Newton Junior Golf and Diabetes Australia". As always members of the public are welcome to come and watch all the action on the golf course and soak in the surroundings.
